Cover: I love this cover! The color is just beautiful! This cover is very similar to the cover of the first book, yet the two main characters are in different positions. Just like the synopsis, the cover doesn't tell you much about the story! Which is good. That's how it's supposed to be. This is a very mysterious book with twists and turns and ups and downs! Overall, I loved the cover. It's gorgeous!
Plot: Now, this is the 2nd book in a trilogy, so I will not be giving away any spoilers. I will just be giving more of a reactions type of plot review. I loved the plot. It was very mysterious, mind-bottling, scary and twisted! I didn't know what was going on, and when I thought I did, Michelle Hodkin proved me wrong! Just like the first book, this story left a huge cliff hanger, and that makes me sad. Very, very sad. Especially because the 3rd book isn't being published until OCTOBER! Anyways, if you like mysteries that will have your skin crawl this book it the one! (Of course, after you read the first one.)
Characters:
Mara: Mara is a great character. She thinks she's losing her mind, yet she still finds a way to stay sane. She is a strong character who is fierce and willing to do what it takes to figure out what is going on. I loved her character much more than the first novel just because of the fact that she is going through so much more!
Noah: Ah, Noah. He's such a cutie. I love him! He's very loyal to Mara, and will do anything he can to help her. He is the perfect love interest. He is witty, brave, ruthless, and just so darn sexy. He is perfect for Mara. His character development is great!
Writing: The writing was just amazing! Considering the fact that this book is a whopping 544 pages, it didn't even feel like it! The writing was so easy to fall into, I had no trouble reading the story. When the book was actually over, I wanted more! Such a lovely style of writing. Smooth and flows really well!
Rating: This book answered many of the questions that were formed in book one, yet at the same time made room for much more! I loved this book without a doubt, and give it a 5 out of 5 star rating! Go read it! :)
