Hello everyone! Today I wanted to discuss my tendencies to give multiple books a 5, or at least 4, star rating constantly. Now, don't get me wrong, I have rated books a less than a four several times. However, this is due to the fact that I read the book with no prior knowledge, thus leading to a book that I just have no interest in. Most of the time, before I even pick up a book, I look at its reviews, read the summary, and if it appeals to me, I read it. So you see, most of the times I know what I'm getting myself into, that way I don't end up wasting my time.
STARS AND MORE STARS!
Now, how exactly do I come to the decision of rating a book a whopping 5 out of 5 stars? Well, that depends on a lot of things, but the main concept is the plot. If the storyline keeps me entertained, wanting more, excited, on the edge of my seat, etc. then I definitely will give it a 5. I also take into consideration the characters. Many times I am annoyed with characters, which usually knocks off half a star or such. Or sometimes I absolutely love the characters, which again, leads to a 5 star rating. I'm not too picky with books. I read for pure enjoyment, and if I love the read, I usually give it a good review. But don't get me wrong, I will, if applicable, rate a book lower than a 4. But, why would I look for books that have low ratings? The less 1, 2, or 3 star ratings I have, the better. Am I right?
Hope you enjoyed this post, and I hope I cleared some things for my viewers :).
